Q: Does SQL Server run slower with DBDefence
No, if you do not have encrypted database you will not see any performance degradation. Access to encrypted database will be slower compared to not encrypted. However it is faster comparing to any existing solution with extended stored procedures. We are constantly working on increasing speed of operations.
Q: Can DBDefence be used to encrypt functions?

Yes. DBDefence encrypts database entirely. Including all data and stored procedures. If you want to encrypt only SQL code consider using SQL Shield

Q: If someone attempts to copy my database to unauthorized server, will it work there?

No, It is not possible to attach the database without DBDefence and the database key file.
